david lovegrove
media composer | sound engineer | creative practitioner
I’m a composer, sound engineer and creative practitioner based in the UK. I’ve been writing music since I was a teenager, but it was when I studied Composition at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance where I first started honing the skill and telling stories with music.
I like to use orchestral and electronic elements together to create cool sounds that make people feel things. Some of my favourite scores are Her (Arcade Fire, 2013), Under the Skin (Mica Levi, 2013), and the soundtrack to the game Battlefield 1 (Johan Söderqvist, 2016).
For my dissertation a few years ago, I wrote and directed a short film called Room 382. This was lots of fun, and also very challenging! I’ve since decided to leave the filmmaking to the professionals and stick to the music. I also write pop music, with my amazing girlfriend and songwriter/artist, Elsa-Grace. You can hear our stuff on Spotify (and below).
When I’m not composing, I work as a freelance recording and mix engineer. I’ve done a lot of live stuff, but I secretly prefer the studio.
Let me write some music for you! I really like doing it. If not, let me mix some! I can do that too.
